Welcome!
In case you want to know more about me.
MY BRIEF
I am knowledgeable
in my chosen field with about 12 years of cumulative and diverse experience in
various fields relating to biodiversity conservation, administration, and
sustainable development.
Am currently involved in the management of the foremost Sustainable Livelihood
and Biodiversity Project for the Niger Delta Region. Currently
managing the foremost project on Sustainable Livelihoods and Biodiversity
Project for the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria. Linking the restoration of local
wetland ecosystem to improved Livelihoods and also strengthening civil society
for promoting ecosystem-based approaches to development and facilitating
policies that integrates wetland ecosystem service values into development.
I had also managed a
pilot participatory natural resources management project and livelihood support
programme for 37 forest-edge communities around two Forest Reserves in Edo
State, Nigeria. Also, I have been involved in the management of a ground breaking biodiversity
research. The research is historically, in that it is the first time
biodiversity research in Nigeria and even in the Africa, would be adhering to
the guiding principles of the International Finance Corporation (IFC)
Performance Standard 6: Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Natural
Resource Management Practice and The Equator Principles, in the conduct of a
biodiversity research. The research was carried in line with policies and
guidelines of various Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) such as: i)
International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standard 6; ii) Convention
on Biological Diversity; iii) The Equator Principles; iv) United Nation
Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC); v) RAMSAR Convention on
Wetlands (Proposed Draft Country Policy); vi) Convention on International Trade
in Endangered Species (CITES); vii) Convention on Migratory Species (CMS);
viii) Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds
(AEWA) and ix) Convention for Cooperation in the Protection and Development of
the Marine and Coastal Environment of the West and Central African Region
(Abidjan).
These experiences have given me exposure to flora and fauna of various forests
types (Swamp forest, Mangrove and Low Land Rain forest) and also made me engage
various stakeholders.
